Drake has been an incredible influence, but in most cases for the worst
lifeless lyrics that his fan base use to live vicariously through drake.
could absolutely make the case he lyrically influenced ye in the past however many years
Some of the songs legit sound like Drake songs, or like Drake wrote them
The first song especially
Well you're not that wrong but this type of music already existed before Drake
It's also incredibly mid
You can argue The Weeknd, but they both came up around the exact same time, and I wouldn’t even say Drake really artistically inspired him. It was moreso of them being from the same city more than anything else tbh
It was a Ye / Cudi situation where they inspired each other imo

You don’t think Drake has a style?
He’s definitely not the most influential, but saying he hasn’t carved out his own lane is kinda crazy

Big problem I have with drake is
He never put anyone on
Wayne blessed drake Nicki and tyga
Drake did nothing
Nicki obviously inspired this entire gen of female rappers
also, when Drake eventually does retire, there's nothing we can point at and say "oh that was Drakes wave" or "that's what Drake contributed" he's always sustained a vibe, but never changed/influenced the culture. he was just along for the ride.
i appreciate a lot of his work and dont mean this as hate
but 40 is the reason drake made great music when he did
the flowers verse on D2 comes to mind. if future wrote those, than drake clearly influenced future.
I’d say Tory Lanez was directly inspired by Drake as well
I know these examples are not great though
Tory
Yea

Ye shouldve looked at Kendrick as his competition instead of Drake ngl
Yeah you’re right, it helped that unlike Kanye he could actually sing too
for sure. I think if Ye could sing we would've never heard of Drake.
to this day arguably Ye's biggest song is Heartless, a singing record.
if Ye could sing, he would've kept records like "Find Your Love" for himself
that's low key why Ye was always salty towards Drake. he gave him the launchpad and Drake became Ye's biggest commercial competition.
once Kanye saw the blood in the water he doubled down as a critical success while Drake went commercial.
classic Prince V Micheal rivalry
ye is OBSSESED with drake as a writer and it has been his legitimate downfall although drake did pen 30 hours which was amazing
Ye shouldve looked at Kendrick as his competition instead of Drake ngl
Agree

Imagine how quickly Drake sxn would attack you and say Party if they saw this

He had his own style last decade (Hotling Bling etc.). Everything went to s*** after he started to connect with Lil Yachty unfortunately. He has no real style anymore

Id argue party influenced drake more than the opposite lol
Ye shouldve looked at Kendrick as his competition instead of Drake ngl
Drake was tryna occupy the same space as Kanye though. The pop rapper.
Kendrick never really cared to be that
we need drake and ye collabing tho they bring the best out each other
drakes pen with ye production is unmatched especially when ye tells drake the story he wants told

Yeah tbh
But for Ye's music it would've been better
As a person Kendrick has way more in common with him too
Id argue party influenced drake more than the opposite lol
Members Only one of the good songs on FATD and that just because of PND
we need drake and ye collabing tho they bring the best out each other

I like glow
But their Collabs have been miss after miss

Hmmm idk how I feels about this
You don’t hear a song like Virginia Beach and think it’s Drake’s own style?
we need drake and ye collabing tho they bring the best out each other

No they dont
Glow sucks ass

Never forget when Kanye and Drake linked up for what should’ve been the biggest rap event of the decade to do a double show and Kanye did a greatest hits set and Drake did about 10 songs from CLB
You f***ing suck bruh
