There's still artistic integrity in keeping them if he feels that it fits. Its not up to any of us to say that's “lazy”. We littrely have no idea. I absolutely loathe when people start taking things as “matter of fact” or ascribe didactic and objective thinking to something they have no idea about. We’re not in the studio. We’re not around him.

Its more lazy to apply that type of thinking instead of just asking yourself “you know what, maybe…” and allowing you to be open and receptive to new ideas.

At the end of the day if you dislike it you dislike it. That's fine. But to ascribe objective based thinking to it is just a terrible approach to any art.
