i was watching this twitch streamer (known weeb) and he was playing this japanese VN about a detective case and i was intrigued by it. Asked in chat for the name and downloaded the game. I played it for hours until i had to google because i was stuck. Then on google i find out its actually a p0rn game and the goal is to unlock s***with the characters. Have not played a VN since then. "kara no shojo" was the name iirc.

I am genuinely curious on how you even get stuck on a VN

I think I remember seeing that Kara no Shoujo has some like, incredibly egregious puzzle solving for the the murder investigations or something like that.
"It's impossible to finish without a guide. At one point there is a pixel-perfect spot during an investigation that you need to click on, sadly I'm not even kidding with that. Chances are extremely high that you will end up on a bad route when just playing normally. You could do that until you get stuck, but you will probably have to replay the whole thing afterwards because you need to collect "ending points" through arbitrary decisions where to spend time."

The thought that there's someone out there that plays VNs exclusively for the nsfw scenes and then had to come across some confusing puzzles that requires guides is killing me

My ass ain't trying to deal with either man, I just want a good story

the comedic part about my story is that i actually did not know that it is a nsfw game and was shocked when i found out
Just finished up Full Metal Daemon Muramasa. Definitely see why people call it one of the best; was a very very good read.

Saw this the other day. I'll take it if it's Mike Flanagan directing, but anyone else...

Lol s*** atleast could've been an actual sequel
never knew this thread existed lol thats fye
read anything new lately fam @op @Nute
Lol it's been awhile since I read a VN. I did read The Letter - Horror Visual Novel last December which I was kinda super underwhelmed by. Story just wasn't there for me. Also I read World End Syndrome which I knew nothing about and loved it besides the terrible route system.
Read most of the SciADV games too, which I currently miss reading right now. Chaos Child (goat), Robotics Notes, Steins Gate were great. Was supposed to start Full Metal Daemon: Muramasa but been busy.
What have you played recently?

I really enjoyed the series overall, even though I have my problems with some. The atmosphere in them are top notch.
I read them in this order:
1. Chaos Head Noah
2. Steins Gate (Not Elite)
3. Some of Steins Gate Darling Embrace
4. Robotics Notes Elite
5. Chaos Child
6. Steins Gate 0 (alternate timeline )
7. Robotics Notes Dash
They’re all related to each other but you can probably skip the non Steins Gate titles even though they’re good and some of them I actually like better than Steins Gate itself. Like Chaos Head/Child which is more horror focused and Robotics Notes which is more friendship & robots, space focus. With Steins Gate being pure science & time travel
I completed a route of nukitashi couple months ago. Im seeing ppl making a fuss out of it since the anime came out recently lmao
