like on top of that too if u can see how everyone else takes it and clearly that’s not what he meant why r we picking apart the nuances and details of the thing he said bro like it’s about his relationship to his art it ain’t like he spoke about a community this why everyone pr trained now

  • CGI Dog

they say this in their raps lol

Lil Baby and all them hustle rappers but when they do it and proceed to move on to other pursuits we call them #hustlers @Brave

But since Vince dont carry himself like one when he say this all we can say is stfu stop complaining lol

You only rushing to this stance because it's "Vince Staples"

Lmaooo if it was whatever whiteboy flavor of the month rapper you wouldn't be tryna apply all this nuance

you know good and well fast food workers are synonymous with being undervalued by both their employers and customers

  • This whole thread is the highlight of my day now

Been waiting all day for some good engagement bait

  • raps2

I been tryna say this the whole thread

Let this have been Boosie or Kodak..or Thug or baby

But nooo the acclaimed hipster rapper who has a sad backstory can't be on some bullshit and devaluing rap by saying it's just a job lmao

Thug has been said dis a much more like capitalist version of this too he’s still my goat and a genius artist

  • raps2

I think it’s fair that the tone of it and the implication is vastly dif if it’s a white person in a black space gng

  • insertcoolnamehere

    This is fair.

But you’d have to take it back to the original capitalists of hip hop it goes way backer than vince lol. Plus, I’m sure there are rappers you listen to now that view this as a come up ESPECIALLY nowadays.

A lot of musicians in every genre just view their talent as a job

Is it safe to talk bout 50 or Hov yet?

Yes and Vince Staples raps about things like how poorly labels treat artists

    What's so hard to understand

  • insertcoolnamehere

21 has been winging it in his raps for the past 5 years no one has wanted him out of hip hop yet

Brother this has nothing to do with the convo in this thread and quiet as kept I've heard a couple of 21 verses after 2020 that are like "bro if this nigga don't have a writer he's kinda decent wtf" lmao he's somewhat clever for his lane with the punchlines and s***

Majority independent artists have a lower ceiling than an artist that has the backing of a label with promotion money
