I'm not saying that you can insert Rhea Seehorn into any random show and it will be a major success. Rather, I believe that Pluribus is popular due to all of the following factors: the writing, the allure of mystery, its marketing, the main lead delivering an incredible performance each episode, and yes of course partially due to Vince Gilligan's name recognition. Can you name another show on TV right now where the lead is as good as Rhea Seehorn?

To act like the shows widespread success is solely because of Gilligan is an incredibly out of touch opinion to have that's basically just low tier bait. You (not directed at you in particular) should be literate enough to explain why you dislike the show in a little bit more detail than that. In certain online circles like this thread, I don't doubt that there are some viewers who are only sticking around due to Vince, though this is not reflective of the overall audience. Do you really think the average viewer has the patience to put up with a show they genuinely don't enjoy, just because Vince Gilligan made it? F*** no. I don’t think that’s unfair to say.

And regarding Rhea, yes she is insanely talented but her name alone is really not that big of a draw for most people, at least not yet.

I agree with you that Vince Gilligan's name gave the show initial buzz, but the show has developed and sustained a large interest due to factors other than Vince, such as Rhea's acting. Her popularity is rapidly rising because of the show and I think that's getting more people to tune in.

I'd be curious to see what type of dropoff in viewership the show has had because, while it seems to be generating a divisive discussion, I still would like to believe that it stays very popular through its whole first season run.
