bcs was "extremely slow" too, so much that the finale had only 40% of the viewership from the first episode
the plot moved slow at first but the other parts of the show did keep you in. characters, dialogue, it was interesting. carol deadass does nothing for 40 minutes, not interesting
there's 1 main character and everyone else is basically the same character, dialogue is just nagging, plot is not there.
if Vince gilligan didnt make this show this thread would have 3 pages

He’s right man. The main reason this has the buzz it has right now is because of Gilligan’s name being attached to it. There are plenty of shows on streaming with interesting premises that nobody watches

Yall are doing too much.
Would it have less viewership? Certainly. But, I still think that pilot would have made a splash regardless. That's for regular audiences but it certainly wouldn't have no 3 pages on here cause it'd still be a critics darling and the people on this site generally follow good taste.
She has been grieving her wife and is sexually attracted to zoisia
When he says explicit Bro means he’s waiting on carol to finger zozia with a filthy ass hand after zozia says she’s pregnant
Just wanna see something...
People who aren't f***ing with this show... What's your opinion of the Breaking Bad episode Fly?
Fly not slow at all it’s funny af all the way thru with Walter being a total weirdo and Jesse trying to foil him the whole time s***s like a loony tunes cartoon set in breaking bad

Not only that, a lot of the “slow” criticisms are being defended by saying that’s standard procedure for a Vince Gilligan show. The show is being granted the grace and patience a lot of other shows nowadays don’t get simply because of who is making it, you gotta recognize that at least

Why y'all so obsessed with plot lmao😭😭 can't even imagine you guys even grabbing a book
The show is minimalistic in it's approach and having the minimum amount of characters is part of the point, you can like it or not but talking about it as if it was a flaw in itself is not very bright, to put it nicely

You def cooked on that last sentence
I still feel like this show was partly created because Vince got to the end of Better Call Saul and he was like...
Ya know... my one regret about this show is that we made Rhea's character strangely sexless

I guess we'll see if that changes

So why is this 100x more talked about than bcs first season?

Dont backtrack now you clown, u literally said "he is waiting" and im not waiting on anything cuz i already know what happens and that's why I commented that, u have zero comprehension skills

Breaking Bad final season averaged 7M viewers per episode, and the BCS pilot pulled in exactly 7M viewers. We don’t know the exact metrics of Pluribus other than that it’s Apple TV’s most watched show, and Apple TV isn’t a very popular service to begin with
Plus, this show is coming after Gilligan had TWO highly acclaimed shows, not just one

Im not talking ab ratings im talking about conversation. nobody has apple tv so thats not comparable, but if u actually think bcs first season provoked more discourse than this one then that's a whole another level of delusion ngl

In terms of tone and approach to story I think it's exactly the same as Vince's other work. It only feels different because of the nature of the story (less characters = more silence)

I don’t really think this one is provoking any type of widespread cultural discussion, it’s popular in the places it should be popular as of right now. The average person has never heard of this show

and the "average person" was discussing bcs? lmao let's get serious now

I never said they were. I’m saying neither show was particularly popular during its first season.
All I’m saying is this obviously has more eyes on it because it’s Vince Gilligan’s next show after two critically-acclaimed & beloved series
I didn't even think them first three seasons were that slow. Unless you hated Chuck, then yeah, but his dynamic with Jimmy was interesting
Exactly
