Nigga go eat a snack

Calling them "classics" is a bit loaded

Netflix isn’t only to blame lol Covid is a large blame of people wanting to binge marathon content . Work from home jobs and isolation . People are hit with so much stimulation right now that they always want to be stimulated
Netflix is to blame.

They are ongoing shows. You can't really judge a show until it's done. You've never had a show fall off?

Every company whether they say it or not or most of them focused on money want players to play daily or watch daily . So that’s the issue when you seek constant consumption eventually it can become mindless consumption. If something is too challenging intellectually or “ slow “ then people disengage because there is so much art out . This applies to music too . What rises to the top is memes and whatever the most people can discuss . Without discussion shows sink . Even the best shows. Some of the best shows had low viewership or lack of physical sales or merch .
While I get you this problem existed before streaming . Streaming may have increased it due to surge in content but the problem isn’t isolated to Netflix because I can think of multiple shows movies games and music that fall into passive content

Classic implies age first and foremost. I'm not even talking about the quality.

Severance is going down as a classic for sure. They have a bunch of really excellent shows too; Foundation, Silo, For All Mankind, Slow Horses, Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Dark Matter, Black Bird, etc. etc.
