This not being a rated R movie was totally a boner kill
Lol all this time I thought it was I'm probably not gonna bother seeing this but looks kinda intriguing
I love the feel of a city in shambles for a night due to the ongoing Carnage mayhem,
The movie doesn't take itself too seriously and its fun for what it set out to do
Still I feel like it needed an R rating, more runtime and more soul (cuz it did feel chopped up and rushed)
I feel like Andy Serkis was just a vessel for the studio in this one, no clear vision or thing that you can tell is PURE serkis
Hell even the CGI was the same as the last movie so not like his expertise showed there at all
This and Trust Fund Babies coming out the same day is ironic
both are just fun little quirky projects that do their thing for a short while and bow out
Yuh 2 days later this s*** was booty cheeks imma type out all the reasons I think why soon
TLDR: this movie is just the first one but worse with no sense of purpose or direction and not nearly enough runtime
This movie felt like a filler episode of a Saturday morning superhero cartoon from the 90s
Heres my thoughts. Obviously this is just my opinion:
Carnage: Not menacing at all besides his actual look. He barely does s\*\*\* and his ultimate goal is to get married. Last movie Riot was going to bring a whole army of symbiotes to destroy the earth but now the bad guy just wants to have a wedding and get revenge on eddie like what a step down. Also what did carnage even bring to this movie that Riot didnt in the last movie? bc sure as hell not much. Riot actually had more interesting uses of the symbiotes powers to keep it a buck. They also didnt give any actual backstory on carnage like venom knew what carnage was and was afraid of him but they never even said why lol.
Characters: Theres barely any character development in this movie besides the villain. In the first movie eddie felt like an actual person and you got see his highs and lows. In this movie you dont get s\*\*\* on eddie as a character. Anne regressed as a character by a mile in this movie. In the first movie she was super likeable to me and i wanted to see eddie get her but in this movie i dont give a f\*\*\* about her and shes just a plot device to get eddie to fight carnage. Bc of not enough character in the movie the ending payoff isnt a payoff at all
Pacing: There is not nearly enough downtime in this movie. Blistering pace is fun in a movie until you forget about everything else that makes a movie good. Third act didnt feel like it earned the spectacle they tried to show off at all and i barely even cared about seeing them fight at the end. I also think all the extra scenes at the end including the credits scene just hinder the weight of the third act even more
PG13 Rating: Do i even need to say why this is trash? There were parts in the movie where i legit wasnt sure for a few seconds if people were dead or not bc they refuse to show any type of blood or gore. So whack
Him saying let there be carnage came at the dumbest part of the movie it didnt even make sense bro. He shouldve said it when he broke out of his execution it would have had a lot more power and been way cooler but nope he says it randomly for no actual reason
this s\*\*\* is a 6/10 at best for me
Movie was entertaining, worth the ticket, had some fun moments
Only complaint is I feel like the scenes of action got the Michael Bay Transformers treatment and was just flinging s*** around you could barely even see what was happening, I also feel like Venom was talking way too fast you could barely even understand him at times
But fun movie overall, the Shriek dynamic was great too, movie would of been boring if it didn’t have the shriek dynamic in it
also wtf was the Detective thing at the end? I was so confused
Toxin tease
Bruh Naomie Harris BODIED. She in this & No Time To Die.
Loved her as Shriek. Her & Woody Harrelson knew EXACTLY what type of movie they were in & ate up all the scenery.
Action was a heavy step up from the first, Cletus / Carnage felt like a more immediate threat than Carlton / Riot and I feel like it shows in the final fight scene with how he was just kinda beating EVERYBODY ass.
Eddie & Venom's bromance was funny as f*** son
and my theater legit POPPED at the post credit's scene.
What a fun theater experience.
Bro and Venom was funny as s*** man lmao "No one likes you Dan" had me crying
woody allen
how are they gonna make venom a good villain for spider man tho? It’s just gonna be corny comedy
Should I spend my money on this movie? I wanna go out tonight but don't wanna waste money

I didn’t see it yet but would advise waiting for the new James Bond movie or seeing Many Saints of Newark.

If you want to be entertained then yea it’s a good movie, if you’re looking for a master piece movie then this isn’t it, people were laughing out loud during some of the scenes so I’d say it’s a good entertainment movie, very fast paced and feels like a comic book movie

Bond out next week
Idk if NTTD would be a great intro to Bond being that it’s the last one for Daniel Craig

The story isn’t great, but it’s pretty straight forward

It’s out the 8th. You’ve got time to binge the other like 4 most recent Bond movies before this. It’s getting way better reviews than anything out rn.
