What would potentially happen when they release their currency that’s backed by gold and abstaining from the dollar?

I mean the economic impact of that is probably just gonna be that its easier to import chinese goods now. Basically by making the yuan more like bitcoin, China doesn’t have to involve itself in the forex market. They will probably increase subsidies on exporting producers, and not needing to convert currencies should (in theory) increase demand for chinese exports.
Personally, I think its not gonna have that much impact. A large part of why bitcoin works is bc people trust it to be private. China doesnt have that aspect. I think they are overestimating the amount of people and companies that will accept this new currency.

2 factors had me thinking, first our debt towards China is v massive and having them change their currency had me think it’d be deleterious for us.
2nd. Having it backed by gold where ours isn’t would also be a major blow.
