What's up?
Everything man. I don't understand what's going on.
So around a month ago I got a thread cap put on me. I can only make 2 threads a day. No one has explained why still to me
I was told it would go back to normal a while back but still doing the same thing and today I made a thread in the music section but the only heading I could put it in was gossip even tho it's not gossip lol
Just need some clarification on what's going on tbh man

naw u got the same limit of ~3 as everyone else friendo
you weren't making use of the channels feature which kind of defeats the purpose of the gossip filter for everyone. just post and ask a mod to switch the channel for you if it's ever not that kind of stuff

yessir. but most people don't! i appreciate your enthusiasm with posting content to the site. could i ask what drives you? i'm always curious about the mindset of different users and their usecases, since so many people have different reasons to come here!

Mate honestly I see this as a relief from stress and my work etc
Just come and look on the forum and then post a few threads a day if I am able to but yeah I just like to come and read through some threads and chill and distress tbh
And in general I just enjoy the forum in general

Very BasedWe are on the same page. However likes in my eyes are just a piece of information. Even if that information is trivial, as you say - I want more information, not less. And I really don't think removing likes is going to usher in more discussion. This is a reach, imo. If someone sees a post and thinks, 'that post is amusing", they aren't going to type out "your post is amusing, etc. etc.". They'll just blank quote the post like they used to do on KTT1, which was a huge nuisance and clogged up threads. If they really want to reply to it, they will like they always have because this is a forum. I also highly doubt removing likes will get rid of the toxicity of the music section. The music section will always be the way it is. It's the f***ing music section.
Yeah, I agree with you as well. I don't think this will spark any type of real "revolution" in conversation on here. Likes, appealing to what we've seemed to have established here, are superficial (for now), so perhaps it is safe to assume that their presence—or lack thereof—makes no impactful difference, relatively-speaking, on the raw experience, being that it is, indeed, superficial.
What useful information is to be gained from the like? Besides the weak argument of reaffirming self-esteem, I don't see a way to argue its value. (I would like to be proven wrong though.)
Sidenote: I don't remember anyone complaining about threads being clogged on KTT1. It wasn't until the introduction of the like button that I have witnessed distraught over the formerly-beloved quoting system. Makes sense though, in the outside view.

and i get why they removed it on ig, with the social pressure it can lead on social medias

why not just let us see likes when we hover over the likes corner of the post
that way it doesnt encourage intsant gratification when u instantly see a large number of likes @team
