people who I know irl that hate this movie hate it for the dumbest reasons
Gotta find some new friends my guy
Thought it was a good film. The music scene was incredible.
As with most films dumb s*** happens to move the plot forward and towards the end stuff happened which made no sense whatsoever. Didn’t impact the quality of the film.
MBJ was amazing but I did think Andre 3000 could’ve done a job at that role.
Alright, I'll finally say it.
Given the themes of the film, does anyone else find it just a little bit contradictory having a white man from Sweden do the score?
Don't get me wrong, Ludwig did a phenomenal job and he's supremely talented. I love the score of the film. But it does take me out of the movie a bit when Delta Slim starts talking about how the blues is something African-Americans brought with them from home, or in that scene showing how the music can connect a people with their ancestors, knowing that a white dude from Sweden actually made the music that's playing rn. Would be cooler if it was from somebody that had more of connection to it.
that part

Pearline ain't s*** though.
a scene I loved I don’t see a lot of people talking about is the one where the girl in the shop goes across the street to get her mom and comes back. whole scene was done in a Scorsese-esqe one take
I just know Pearline's husband was mad confused that she never came back home.
