You guys think this will sweep at the Oscars?
Def not but it’ll be a complete win & seen a total victory if it gets nominated for any of the non-craft awards. If Delroy gets a supporting nod, if it’s in original screenplay, or even Coogler best director or for best film, it’ll be seen a real real win for the movie and be a big deal.

i think coogler def gon get a og screenplay nod
Don’t know if I misinterpreted this but Remmick at one point said he was trapped there(I think?) and Preacher Boy and his guitar was the key. Smoke and Stacks dads guitar is constantly brought up emphasizing its significance as well as mentioning their dad was a genuinely evil dude but it made me wonder if there was some time travel element to this and the twins dad was originally vampire who traveled back in time to the 1900s using the same guitar?

oh nah i think the power to pierce the veil came from people not the instruments. but you're not the only one to think there was something up with Smoke and Stack's pops.
Just saw some people on twitter talking bout how they thought annie was smoke's aunt/mom i was like nigga how
The scene near the beginning when Sammie is waking up all the kids reminded me of young Wallace in the wire when he had to wake up all his brothers/sisters

My one homie thought the same thing for some reason.
S*** threw me in a loop for a second.

I'd bet a large amount of money it's getting in Best Picture and Original Screenplay at the very least

Yeah I don’t see why it wouldn’t. Best director too

wouldn’t surprise me if this has the EEAAO effect also as overrated as i think that movie is
Interesting thread
Unfortunately this is a very interesting a***ysis
You think so? I think that’s only because “they are the KKK”… if they weren’t the KKK and just random con men would you feel the same way?
There needed to be payoff for that slaughterhouse owner setting smoke and stack up, if he and the klansmen didn’t get killed off it would be incomplete. It’s set up throughout the whole movie, down to the main vampire’s exposition to Sammy

she got that black mom/auntie build and women of her stature/skin tone arent usually love interests i can see why u would think this if you werent following the audio
Yeah I don’t see why it wouldn’t. Best director too
Director will be tougher with some of the names competing this year, but I wouldn't be surprised
I don't think the Academy can just forget about this because it's an early release. It's gotten so much buzz that the April release won't matter imo

I’d argue if you remove all that you would have a tighter movie.
