This video just put me in such a good mood. I think even if you don’t want to go see this movie but you are a self proclaimed film fan, this video is necessary viewing. It’s broken everything down into simple terms and you can tell how much Ryan loves this s*** even when just talking about how many perforations wide a frame of IMAX film is.

I enjoy going to the movies now during that midday/afternoon period as opposed to an evening show. I find the movie sits with me more, I got time to do other s***, and can discuss it with people longer.

For context when Sinners had a bidding war between all the studios to see who could buy the script, WB bought the rights on the condition that Coogler has ownership to the Sinners name and IP which means in 25 years the rights will be solely his.

Deeming creatives getting ownership over their creations as a "studio failure" is an extremely cynical and reductive way of looking at things.

I was moreso praising how cool it is that Coogler gets the rights to the movie that he made when all is said and done

This is also the same studio that ran off their golden boy, Nolan right into universal's arms because how they did Tenet during the same pandemic so they know not to make the same mistake again and piss these directors off lol.
