They should have switched the order, first one is a gag and 2nd one is important plot wise

The mom from last one returns from her urn at that funeral home in this movie and kills a kid who let her out accidentally

Mid credits is decently imprinting plot wise. Wrath is set in the 70s so it won’t be a forward chronological extension of this and Rise, however it does set up potentially two different sects of Deadites. They’re easily “spawned” by the incantation, but they also spread. The grandma spread to the girl who will do her own thing (not that we’ll see a movie with that random girl) (possibly still going after Alice with the dagger) and any actual continuation of this could habe the second sect of deadites be from someone doing the incantation.

Sorry for the speculative word vomit lol. Mind is racing after the second viewing.

Caught a lot more of the despite dialogue this time around. Tightly written movie.Thya said “you thought I’d let you keep all the men in this family”. After that little face smush/hug after Alice gives Will the picture she flashes a look across her face.

Something a second viewing really illuminates. Susan (the mom) is a pretty good character imo for a movie that flashes you into the action so quickly. The inconsistencies of wanting beyond all logic (ie your dementia patient amputee mother standing in the bed and opening the window for your should be dead husband who savagely ragdolled you around) to have your family whole while at the same time ostracizing and trying to control a member of the family, Alice while at the same time again ignoring the abuse your husband gives your youngest son. It’s interesting little character pockets sprinkled throughout.

I did wish we had more Deadite Sarah and Thya. They really exuded the energy I love.

Mom so central to plot. I agree with what you are getting at.

I was astonished at the fight between thya (wills gf) and Alice and Will. The top down shot and they choreographed it was fantastic

    Yeah, that was insane

No offense but your girl sounds like a mental patient if she’s like those kinds of movies

Believe it or not you’re not the first person to say this

Am I the only one who thought the two main women deadites in this and Rise low-key looked hotter when they became possessed?

Making the Alzheimer’s riddled Grandma your comedic relief character was certainly a choice.

    I concur. Very reasonable opinion

As long winded as this felt at times I wonder if there were cut scenes

Thya and Mom may be my favorite characters of the movie.

Some have been triggered with how domestic violence was used in this movie or the writing when dealing with the topic. Cant help but feel something was missing. The dead grandparent being in a secret society and trying to protect the family as people slowly got possessed. Leading up to a fight in a house and an attic reminded me of Hereditary fully. Still in for future movies and wrath. Writing / acting in first 30 minutes just feels extremely awkward or one note. Where they feel written rather than natural humans . Very on the nose.

Still an overall golden age for horror to continue to put things out

It worked great. Feel like this had way more funny moments than rise.
