Ok now we got some action
I agree with Guardians being better than 1 & Miles, but not 2 outside of Story
people only hype this game because it’s a non exclusive marvel
s***s average
Baldur’s Gate only won coz of the s***stuff
how is it an opinion when its this wrong
Persona 3 in all iterations besides portable is mediocre. Brought a lot to the series by laying out the foundations that would make It popular, but not only its outclassed in all of those mechanics by the sequels, the combat system is not fun when you cant control party members, story has bad pacing and is honestly boring at times besides the first hours and the final stretch, and the answer is not interesting gameplay wise, compared to golden and royal's extra content especially. The fact reload still wont be the definitive version of this game is funny too cause there's a fantastic game in p3 if you take the best parts from each release and finetuned answer, but oh well

It’s not the most unique game in the world no, but It puts such a fun spin on the characters and world of Guardians that Spider-Man doesn’t do. People hype Guardians because it’s actually a great game that went severely under the radar for the because of how painfully average Avengers was

That GTA VI trailer is obviously beautiful and it's filled with so many details. My fav scene was that of the fake Ocean Drive and just how much it resembles the real thing. But, I feel like GTA became famous in the 2000s when mocking America and making parodies was super popular (think of Borat, South Park, Futurama, MTV prank shows, comedians like Dave Chappelle, Michael Moore documentaries). Like it was so big, but watching the trailer I was just left with a feeling that this whole trope has gone out of style because it has been so overused by everybody, I feel like we as society have outgrown the genre, especially after Trump's presidency which turned all the irony into post-ironic reality. Do you feel the same or is it just me?
I’m glad the gaming has the space now to be a genuine and cool hobby rather than a “kids thing”
People who still have that mindset are unhappy with themselves
That last point, I figured that myself, because no one is that bothered by someone living their life unless they're unsatisfied with their own.
My dad played Rogue Squadron more than anybody on earth and had 3 kids, a house and like 14 grandchildren
The N64 version, GameCube was too flashy for him lol
Sounds like your pop was really chill
TOTK was actually masterpiece but MFs don’t wanna give it credit cus it was THAT good and the hype was ridiculously crazy
When something like that is that hype, MFs wanna be different and call it overrated
You can say it ain’t for you or you prefer old Zelda
But if you don’t think TOTK wasn’t another classic (and the true GOTY), you lying
Korean game developers are going to make an impact on the gaming landscape like never b4. (Ex. Wukong, DokeV, Lost Souls Aside, etc.) These guys are going to a be crucial force in the future whether we like it or not.
Traditional 3D Fighting Games are probably the most disrespected yet underutilized style rn in Fighting game landscape. Would love to see a deconstruction of the style in regards to gameplay and narrative.
Astro Bot needs to be more of a fixture in PlayStation's exclusive. No diss to Sackboy and R&C(I love those games and franchises) but it seems to have the magical platformer vibe that people are craving. Has a unique design and quirk. Not saying the aforementioned franchises are bad but it appears that people are tired of them or ready to move on.
Samsung should honestly make a console. They have the tools and potential resources to carve a lane.

i think dan houser acknowledged during trump era that real life is almost beyond parody now

The TRUTH is that Rockstar games have evolved very little besides the technical/visual part of their games. Mechanically and structurally they've been doing the same thing for more than 20 years now and i agree with you that it's starting to get a little old.

i agree with the general sentiment but i think it's more to do with the fact that a $27b company has a say in how things play out and they're necessarily going to pursue a more conservative / mass appeal route because it's a release that underlines them for a decade
there is so much pressure on the game to be as successful as possible it will inevitably infringe on the "rawness" of it in a way that wasn't present in previous GTA entries (or RDR2, which was not under the same pressure). it started with V.
while diminished i think the appetite for social commentary and parody is still there. But I guess the more times you do it the less new material there is also

I think the US just literally became GTA irl so it feels like less of a parody now

When you consider that the events in the trailer are pretty much 1:1 parodies of real things that happened in florida you realize rockstar knew they couldn't come up with anything more wacky. Just Floridians in their natural habitat.
I think people underrate Rockstar's commentary on America. This will be no different and I'm sure it will still be more mature than 5. 5 had some good jabs. The radio talk shows are the best. Will always listen to those in full.

real
even just the cultural impact, for lack of better wording, TotK had was unlike the majority of games
like all the memes and gameplay vids on social media
for example, I saw people playing Baldur’s Gape 3 or whatever a few times on TikTok but nothing memorable - I've actually seen it more on my fyp now that it won GotY
nothing against the game, I haven’t even played it but it seemed people felt TotK was the obvious choice and therefore inadvertently ignored it
Yakuza games are boring, repetitive and overrated as hell, if you've played one you've played them all
If they could have 4 player splitscreen on Xbox 360 games like Blur and Halo, they can at least have 2 player splitscreen for shooters on a PS5. TVs are even bigger now, this is the era where it makes the most sense. But no, everything has to be online now
Blame frame rate and keeping up realistic graphics for a lot of games. I'm pretty sure 30fps and high resolution split screen can happen, but studios don't want to make that effort for such a small population.

Hell yeah and I'll do it all again in Yakuza 9
