Yakuza map is how open world cities should work. Dense and small > sparse but big
It will take general audiences a few more years to catch up to this fact

Nah I need my big cities and police chases
Yakuza's rad though
Yakuza series > gta series besides san andreas and 3
Real for 3 & San Andreas. My favorite ones
Tbh Pokemon's combat system combined with catching mechanics is top 5 game design ever, theres a reason people keep buying buggy/glitchy mess, its that solid ass core that pokemon has that no other series got to that level. I prefer how SMT handles It, but Pokemon got amazing designs, easy enough and intuitive battle system and catching pokemon is very fun. I havent even glanced at a Pokemon game since gen 6, but i cant deny they struck gold
I agree it's just so much wasted potential
I thought tlou 2 was incredible tbh, did everything tlou 1 did but better
All of these games are good, at least offline
DOA has great mechanics tbh it's just that Westerners sperg out if they see too many titties bc they want their hobby to be taken seriously
They are legit good games, but the focus on them isn’t as prevalent as 2D fighters nowadays.
3D fighters have the same problem 2Ds do though: Casual players don’t stick around

There aren’t enough casual fighting game fans to begin with and the experienced people box everyone out. Trying to get into a Tekken or SF game etc, even right at release, is super difficult because there’s so many nerds who are so good from playing previous entries that it feels very difficult to start anywhere.
Also, the games don’t naturally teach you the ways to get better over time the way a FPS does. You need to spend time off the game looking up strategy or training in the dojo. You can get better at other online games just by playing.
mgs2 greatest game of all time
Top 2 and it’s not 2. MGS 3 is up there but nothing beats the speed and simplicity of 2. Love all MGS games tho, even 5 and Twin snakes.
Underneath its Ubisoft-style presentation, for honor was a great game and easily belongs in the top ten games of 2017. It would’ve been top 3 if that wasn’t such a great year for gaming
The 2017 double-punch of Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey hasn't yet been surpassed, I don't have any nostalgia for that year, I got my Switch during the pandemic, but they're some of the best games I've ever played, top 10 material, I don't know if we'll ever see something else like it, both are the peaks of their respective franchises IMO
Nintendo still coasting off the greatness of that year to this day
Missions were also more fun
Hell nah most of gta 4's missions were just driving somewhere and then shooting someone for some random nigga. Gta 5 at least had diversity
I think a lot of ppl just put gta4's story above 5 simply because it's darker. Everything interesting about gta 4's story (how immigrants have a hard time living in the US, Niko ptsd, how niko is upset about how he has to kill people for money) is not addressed or is barley touched apon.

Betters characters and overall plot, darker tone, a strong protagonist in Niko. It was like a dark comedy vs 5 which is a total off the wall bonkers mess. I like both but 4 remains my favorite.

I think GTA V story is more funny overall tho, IV became quite repetitive after the Heat robbery

I fw niko as a protagonist Potential wise i think he's Arthur morgan level as a VG protag and i fw the more grounded tone. My problem is just how it's told.
niko telling me he doesn't like killing ppl for money but never once attempting to get a job is just crazy to me im pretty sure there's a whole trope of that cuz of this game
i don't remember any of the side characters besides roman and the chick who betrays you. Fw the physics way more then 5's tho

How could you forget Little Jacob
How could you forget Little Jacob
Little Jacob one of the realest homies in gaming tbh
