The album was pretty memorable to me coupled with listening to it the morning after the movie. I throughly enjoyed my first listen while opening my store and go back to the album often. I asked my girl to listen to it, and she added bout 10 songs to her playlist. People like the album, is what it is
Astroworld wasn't a good album either. It was heavily carried by the roll out and how much hype and craziness there was in the hip hop space in general in 2018.
Utopia dropped at the worst time in hip hop bc people don't care about the genre as much as they used to and the roll out hardly did anything to elevate or maintain the hype for Utopia. The only thing people can latch onto is the music which f***ing sucked so it came and went.
Even Kanye disowned Sean dude like it's a wrap don't even try just humble yourself nobody is impressed that your first rap album was Carter 3
oh no, a Hitler lover doesn’t like him :O
The generational divide on here is becoming more pronounced with every passing day
Oldheads vs Members Since 2023
Utopia was good for a Travis album
It was overrated on release but is a decently good album out of 2023
This ^^
Problem is when people start comparing Travis rapping to previous works as if that's something to look up on
Here you go
Oh God, this s*** too cold for the mink, Ye
Bang, bang, bang, my niggas ain't tamed
Might buried your ass in that Sphinx, mane
Sip Merlot, watch us make the champagne rain
Let my ding-a-lang hang
I'm a southside nigga where the 'caine reign
We running, summers, we running
Spring and fall, jogging be nothing
Winter, they cuffing, cuffing them up as they loving
The same month as my niggas stuffing
Riding through, rockin', Shaka Zulu
Block Crip or whole family blue; bloody, yeah, su-woo
Ain't you supposed to preach what you practice?
Put a rubber on if you stabbing
Get baptized if you baptist but ain't it evil to live backwards
Holy Ghost, hold on
Chakalu blakalu los: that's tongue for you niggas who lost
Bro was actually saying nothing on Owl Pharaoh

The dude’s whole discography is wack except for like a couple of songs.
Lol you went to a Travis Scott movie
Yea s*** was cool and only $8, I was in that b**** blazed. Dope to see how far he’s come from the $15 show ticket days. Cool artist to be a fan of. Can’t wait for the tour
:(
this opinion isn’t that unpopular among people who started listening to rap before Trump became president
🙄
Beats have some nice textures, but I don't really feel the songs go anywhere or that he expresses much.
Even if old trav albums weren't known for the lyrics, they had a relatable feeling.
My first reaction to utopia was that he's taking too much psychedelics

astroworld was more wavy but it felt tight.
this feels like nice curtains with no view out the window
or time lasting forever when you're tripping

Like I said, Astroworld is literally a trip in album form
This album he just been smoking a ton of weed and drinking which is evident in his lyrics and the movie
