"Drill Scott-Heron" album's cool for sure

You mean Burden of Proof? They're sorta incomparable to me

Nah, 1 on a 1. I think most people memory holed that one. For good reason.

Burden of Proof is probably Benny's best solo work. It's that or TT3.
I still prefer his record with Spesh though.

Oh word... I’m convinced that if Benny went full trap in 2021 with actually good production, it would be dope. (And that’s coming from someone who generally thinks he’s boring without grimy production)

And I definitely fall on the TT3 side... but his Spesh collab joint had some unforgivable beats lmao

Most definitely—Only for Dolphins was dope. But I haven’t heard him rap like this in a minute

Listened to YL's Alone Time. Reminds me of early Blu and XV and guys like that. That style really isn't in vogue anymore. Nice throwback. Hopefully he can build on it. I'll have to check out his collab as well.

Listened to the first half of Divino x Muggs. Pretty standard from both. Can't say it stands out much. I was on my gymphones so maybe I'll give it a spin over the big speakers and see how it hits.

Also, in the last month I've definitely written down a Bob Backlund bar and an extended Jansport rhyme scheme. Reality is bending to my will.

Haven’t heard Jesus is my homeboy yet, how good is it? Mt. Marci is the definition of a grower

Not as good as Alone Time and two too many YUNGMORPHEUS features, but still good

This is the best Wu-Tang record I've heard in years. Tracks 6 and 7 really special.

Yeah Y’s not doing anything new or innovative really, but he’s perfect for chill hip hop when you don’t want the dustiness of Marci. Production choices are always A1. Vibe’s always great, and he’s good for some funny lines at least once a song.

Interesting take on Kilogram. I thought that album was great for its cinematic/devilish/psychedelic production and mind-bending rapping from Divino. Prolly being hyperbolic but I really enjoy that album for both of their contributions.

    Drop that bar

Am very late getting into Wu-Tang. So far I’ve loved OB4CL, Clientele, Ironman and Fishscale (easily my fav I’ve heard).

That's very surprising to hear. That tape I posted isn't anything close to a 36 Chambers, Brooklyn Zoo, or Liquid Swords. Illah Dayz is strong on a verse though, and those two tracks in particular are very tender and vulnerable. It's from 1/2 of Detroit's Wu-Tang branch The Wisemen.

I mean I’m 22, so I feel like it’s kinda normal to not be up on Wu and other early s*** like that... but holy s*** I’m happy I heard Fishscale. After 3 listens that’s already up there with some of my favorite rap albums.

Right, I can imagine it’s not comparable. Sounds interesting though—I’ll give it some time tomorrow.
