how is he so prolific
Golden age?! Jesus f***ing christ. Just to be clear. Somewhere between dope and decent:
Ka, Roc Marciano, billy woods, Elucid, Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine, Benny the Butcher, Stove God Cook$, Action Bronson, Meyhem Lauren, Che Noir, Fly Anakin, Koncept Jack$on, Big Kahuna OG, Boldy James, Starker, YL, loji, Maxo, Navy Blue, Willie the Kid, Rome Streetz, Evidence, Blu, Planet Asia
Everyone else is just some wack netcee garbage. Without the Internet those dudes would be f***ing UPS delivery drivers. When do they perform live?
Late 90s-mid-2000s is the underground golden age when dudes were dropping pure fire and touring the world performing but still living like regular dudes. Now we got these entitled Bandcamp OBI $1000 album chumps clogging up the game. And ya'll trustfund kids too dumb and too soulless to see the real anymore. Damn shame.

Yessss this thread needed to be spiced up
I need people to rap over some goddamn beats everyone thinks theyāre doing something when they gut the drums but its getting real monotonous, and the nasal Flee Lord flow got drained in the wash theres no color left
One of the reason Tuamie and MA is soāļø

big kahuna og monday night chris crack
90s was obviously the real dope underground golden era but in terms of a more visible independent scene the late 90s-early 2000s s***s all over the current scene (even though there are some dudes who I agree are f***ing dope as hell).
Cunninlynguists, Oktober, Natural Elements, People Under The Stairs, Zion I, Aceyalone, Black Milk, Elzhi, Sean Price, Skyzoo, Cannibal Ox, Murs, Loer Velocity, Little Brother, Madlib, Masta Ace, MF DOOM, Hieroglyphics, Dilated Peoples, Planet Asia, One Be Lo, Phat Kat, Oh No, Company Flow, Blackalicious, Self Scientific, MF Grimm, Jean Grae, The UN, C-Rayz Walz, O.C., Buckshot, Reks, AG, Sadat X, Royce Da 5'9".
That's just off the top. This thread is embarrassing unless you delete like 70% of that list. Then we good.

You know when I made this thread I just had Mach, Ka, billy woods, and Roc. Because those dudes are far far ahead of most others imo.
Just added on the rest through recommendations itt, but still, the amount of quality rap coming out of the underground is wild

Roc Marci invented
Still, I think what Divino and Nack are doing on projects like The Door and Monumentality are pretty worthwhile as far as drum-less prod goes

Havenāt heard the Estee project yet but generally I agree, not against drumless or drum-minimal production but a lot of folks i hear lately didnāt get the message that you have to have captivating verses to pull it off - very few Jah Montes of the world I know they arenāt at the skill level

Very well said
A lot of Griselda clones too, and that cookie cutter dope rap that they mimick gets old reeeeeally quick
Word. There are reasons only Roc, Ka, Jah, Mach, and a few others can get away with that. It's cause their writing is f***in incredible
