Now you're speculating on top of the speculation of it being a summer album, which would include July, August, and most of September lol. Unless there was a quote I missed about it being a summer album

The album was meant for release last Sumner and he additionally admitted the Kendrick collab was the earliest song done meaning the song had to be made and finished before Summer.

If you expected the album last summer, the brothers sympathize—so did they. Pusha says they felt confident, proud, and assured of themselves when they presented the music to Def Jam. The label loved what they heard—except for Kendrick Lamar’s guest verse on the thunderous “Chains & Whips,” the final version of the song that Pharrell teased at his first LV runway show, and the song Pusha says was the first to come out of their sessions.

So they tried turning the album in last summer, UMG knew Drake was drafting some paperwork and said they not releasing anything Kendrick Lamar at that point in time. Clipse said they're not censoring their art, over the months they work a way out of the contract and Roc Nation picks them up. When did they sign with Roc?

That timeline adds up to me lol. There was no Kendrick music at all besides the IG loosie until the actual paperwork was filed

Nowhere does it say UMG said they won't release any Kendrick Lamar music. This also makes no sense as they would just wait out the details of the lawsuit and then release there album by December latest

All I'm saying is it's silly to completely dismiss the idea of Drake's lawsuit leading to censorship lol I'm not a legal expert I'm not a music exec I don't know what happens behind the scenes, it just adds up in my opinion

  • Drake Stans still trying to act like he and UMG weren't doing some shady s*** behind the scenes? Hilarious.

Pusha claimed UMG blocked/censored The Story of Adidon, his feature on Rick’s Maybach Music VI in 2019, and his Pop Smoke feature in 2020.

So why would the lawsuit have any deciding factor if he’s claiming they’ve been frantically censoring him from saying anything that could be perceived as a Drake threat for years already?

And be real do you think UMG is doing this much to quiet him when they have supported Kendrick the entire past year full heartedly? Or is Pusha just twisting some narratives and playing into perceptions?

Because they are picking and choosing when to let their pop star get clowned

Obviously they would be more willing to promote a generational song than a guest verse that will be only a fraction of what NLU is

They still wanna make money from Drake while they can it’s pretty obvious

Do you think it's completely inconceivable that Drake told UMG to block some Pusha T songs after Adidon and he tried doing that with Kendrick and UMG wouldn't/couldn't and that's why he's suing?

No, considering if Drake tried to block the Kendrick songs prior to release that would have been noted in the lawsuit right?

So now yall are the ones literally making delusional conspiracies that are reaching.

If he tried to stop the release of the Kendrick songs that would’ve had to been noted at some point in the legal documents of the lawsuit. They are literally recapping all the events that transpired and all internal label discussion. There’s no way that part is magically left out if that happened.

Lol all I'm saying is Drake is not above that s***. I don't think Drake directly has anything to do with this Clipse album rollout, I just think he lawsuit absolutely pushed it back. I don't even think anybody heard those Kendrick diss songs until they hit upload so idk why you keep mentioning Drake trying to block them before release

There are many subsidiaries of UMG. It’s not one monolithic label. There are hundreds of sub labels under the UMG umbrella.

Drake even claimed in his lawsuit that that there were people that were pro Drake people that got removed.

There’s labels and executives that probable never interact with each other but they are still both a part of UMG

Kendrick is signed to interscope. He doesn’t deal with the def jam people, so whatever rules def jam have for pusha have nothing to do with Kendrick.

You’re just playing semantics. If Drake tried to block Kendrick songs at ANY point — before or after release, it would’ve been noted in the lawsuit at some point from either side.

We got hundreds of pages in legal documents and at no point does it mention Drake tried to block any Kendrick releases prior to the lawsuit, so to answer your question: no it’s not worth believing he tried to do that when there is nothing that indicates that

Idk why it's a hard concept for y'all to grasp that Kendrick Lamar has less hoops to jump through when releasing music than Pusha T and UMG is less willing to censor one of the highest charting rap songs of all time over a rapper who sells what, 40k first week?

This is quite literally what we are saying.

Pusha is a D-list artist who sells 40k first week, why would UMG be terrified of him being a threat to Drake and his commercial power but let an A-list artist who actually would be a perceived threat go completely after him with no holds barred?

They letting NLU get SuperBowl performances, but are so afraid of the impact a Pusha T feature on a Rick Ross album might have they are making sure they can get it blocked… What are we even discussing

    Money.

They are probably worried the song can create momentum for an ongoing lawsuit.

If clipse sells 40k would the monetary gain be worth it for UMG?

Clipse not selling a lot of records literally creates the opposite argument.
