Yes… they proposed dropping music outside the label first. So logically a label is not going for that unless you just leave the label altogether.

Why would someone think they can pick and choose when they’re signed to a label? You either are signed or not lmao that’s the whole point of a recording contract.

They then made sure after that they could leave the label and did so willingly.

So again, why did he paint the story as if he was just dropped unwillingly?

Not only were they not dropped, but Pusha’s manager brought up the initial idea of leaving the label and releasing the music elsewhere first and then insisted on paying to leave the label.

You’re playing dumb. There’s a huge difference in optics with framing it as “they dropped me against my will” instead of “I wanted to leave and went out of my to way to do so”.

Drake didn’t pull strings to get them dropped which was the common misconception made from him twisting the situation. They left on their own accord.
