Bro unless you’re one of the execs, you know as little about it as I do, particularly as a no avi on ktt. I think you’re taking this pro wrestling stuff way too serious. Yes labels dont want to kill their biggest cash cow. Getting everyone on earth talking about your artists is not killing their biggest cow lol

I'm not saying where I work but I can see it from the label's perspective for sure. My bad if I'm coming on too strong but I disagree that the label would allow the bad PR just for some short term stream boosting. If people start boycotting Drake and he loses brand deals then the 9 figure deal is looking like money wasted. Labels have a very long term view vs short term.

I just don’t think it will in this day in age, we will wait and see. Sure Kanye went number 1 after his nazi episode, we are in a new world where nobody gives af

Kanye is independent and was blocked from a lot of samples, had his distributor take the album down and was blocked from doing shows. Ye is an anomaly and if he didn't have such a crazy fanbase the labels would've put a stop to his No1.

Thats kind of you to say, tbh you werent, you’re just sharing your opinion in a neutral way, its cool. You could be right, I mean we are both speculating. I just predict this will boost both of there sales. Maybe in a year or two we will look back and see who was right!

Ok people block samples all the time, it’s his fault for not clearing samples before putting the album out. I remember the album being taken down was some sort of weird thing where they said they werent going to publish it but someone did anyway and he just had to switch distributors. Yes some places didnt want him to do concerts but he had no trouble finding places that did. I don’t think Ye is an anomaly, but is a sign how things have changed and will continue to change, being that all that matters is people talking about you and the reason for it doesnt really.

Kendrick has a licensing deal. Drake has a 9 figure record deal. The terms are different.

    hes right

businesses think in long term especially with assets like drake

streams barely make s*** so if it has the chance of significantly lowering future income through that artist then everybodys money is f***ed

if youre in a big position at a label like that or any large business in general and you’re looking for a quick buck risking your future income through a main source then you probably will not have a job very soon

there would be no drake if there was no business behind this so the people getting paid do not care about the next few weeks they care about the next few years/decades

I meant this will boost stuff in the long term, not the short term. I dont mean he gets more streams now because of the songs, I mean the exposure this will get them both will benefit them in the long term.

They’re f***ing panicking. Kendrick is really the boogieman, because the s*** he’s saying is not just Drake, it involves the higher ups of the entire industry….I can see why he debated within himself and God about going all in for this beef because now you’re really pissing off the big dogs….

    What is Kendrick exposing actually

    The pedo stuff ofc

Even thought he hasn’t shown any concrete evidence that still is something sponsors don’t want to be associated with especially if their brand partner is highly profitable

I think the exposure from all of this will still get him more popularity than being accused of being a pedo, which is something that has followed him for years and is nothing new, will detract. If he actually was one, I would agree. But this is all just banter. (He did do questionable things I would never do though)

If this is true... then Kendrick lowk killing his career by default if he truly intends to air everything out. Which I hope he does
