I actually like Family Matters. That’s not a bad diss track at all.

To me all of Kendrick’s were just way better crafted.

Euphoria is so f***ing goofy and confident.
“Back 2 back, I like that record!” Had me dying at my job. Complimenting Drake on his diss song was so funny to me I can’t explain. And that’s one of a million hilarious moments on that song to me. Also the end is chilling in hindsight, you taking it there I’m taking it further, PSST that’s something you don’t wanna do…

Super underrated track. It’s almost like he’s narrating his own thoughts on what is happening.

He follows Euphoria up with what sounds like him struggling with the situation he brought onto himself and trying to figure out if it’s worth it for him to go to war with Drake knowing Kendrick had possibly harmed Whitney. Also simultaneously warning Drake that if he makes it personal he’s going to go nuclear.

“It was fun until you started to put money in the streets
Then lost money 'cause they came back with no receipts
I'm sorry that I live a boring life, I love peace
But war-ready if the world is ready to see you bleed”

…he went nuclear. Super hard to listen to song. Nobody expected such a bat s*** insane song 20 minutes after Drake’s.

Using most of the same themes as his most depressing song yet to make his funnest song maybe he’s ever made is absolutely deranged.

The difference in tone, flows, beats, and messages is just so astounding to me.

you saw what happened when MJ tried to fight SONY, they tarnished his name and tried to make him a laughingstock. people say its a conspiracy that they took him out but I don't put it past them in the slightest

If there’s one part I liked about the heart 6 is that Drake really did piss Kendrick off enough to make some of the most interesting music I’ve heard from him. There’s an ugliness to it. He’s completely lost his cool. You can reaaally feel like there’s some jealousy and hatred here. He cannot believe that such a square made it so far in the music industry on autopilot. He’s disgusted with him and likely frustrated with his own personal life if what Drake is saying is to believed. Also probably a little frustrated that Mr Morale, a project everyone I talk to music with, agrees is an incredibly beautiful album, did not reach the same level of success as his others. It’s an album that helped me deal with my own s*** and to see him go from “I hope you find some peace of mind in this life time” to literally choosing violence is baffling, extremely interesting, sort of disappointing/disturbing, but also somehow stupidly exciting.

I agree partially, I think what makes Kendrick's disses cut so deep is that we didn't expect him to pop off like this at all

but I don't get jealous vibes or that he's upset at the sales of Mr. Morale, his tour did well and he gets the bag. Him and Drake are very different artists. I think Kendrick is upset at Drake's position in the game bc he views him as not being authentic

if this is true, then he won't respond, end of story. Kendrick might be willing to crash out on Drake just from a personal POV but when you think about how many of his friends and close associates that he keeps employed on pgLang, it would be selfish of him to burn that bridge for them just to defeat Drake.

Dot might be able to survive without needing UMG but what about all the people who work on his tour and get paid with a UMG budget? what about all of the personal relationships that Dave Free has at UMG? what about the future of Baby Keem's career? If he really keeps going at Drake, UMG will stop working with all of them, and probably never clear one of their artists' features for him again.

You don’t see any ego in this at all? Kendrick wouldn’t have done this if he had the same numbers as Drake in my opinion. Kendrick is stupidly competitive (see Father Time, Like That, Control etc). Dude wants to WIN.

I’m not even saying I care about him winning but it’s hard to not read between the lines and see that he feels like he is losing when it comes to the numbers.

It could just be me but I know Kendrick cares about being on top and seeing a cornball beating him numbers wise for so long has to weigh on his soul. That same cornball mentioning his family and trying to ruin his reputation just pushed him way over the line we expected him to stay behind.

Drake is for sure sending a cease and desist for Not Like Us, no way he risks that become a summer song or anything like that
