Many reasons for me.

Classic racist witch hunt, roughly +1000% more media coverage compared to white counterparts including those who were actually proven guilty of plagiarism unlike him.

Some of which kept their jobs in academia because it was handled internally and not by the press or public opinion.

We are importing right wing BS racist DEI narratives from America.

The person who broke the story is a known racist (who hates Black and Jewish people) who was fired from Cambridge previously for his racism.

Arday is now dead after being put in a vulnerable position by the right wing media, some left wing publications and even Black people globally repeating the idea that he's guilty of plagiarism without proof.

Liverpool Uni and Cambridge (1st investigation) cleared him of plagiarism.

Ultimately the media are to blame.

Not sure where to start because everything about it pisses me the f*** off honestly. British Media in general and how miserable and racist it is. This whole Jason Arday situation was not such a big deal that it required 24/7 news coverage, you would think he literally killed someone; people have done far worse. This would not have been such a big deal if Jason Arday was not black; the real reason this has so much attention is because its just more fuel for social medias culture war nonsense.

Even reading the reactions to his death pisses me off, reading s*** like "Well, he shouldn't have lied then!" is completely insane to me. I have also seen a lot of people trying to shift blame from the press and social media and say all of this lies strictly on Jason Arday for lying, even after his death, people are trying to make him out to be some kind of monster; this was a f***ing human being
