CampariI saw a video a long time ago & I ended up taking notes on it because it was fascinating.
Basically it stated that if humans became so incredibly advanced and are able to develop interstellar travel, we would only be able to explore 0.00000001% of the known universe. That’s about one billionth of a percent.
So just based off numbers, an alien civilization will have to be 1 billion times more advanced than us to have only discovered 1% of the universe.
Now the question would be, is that 1% within the realm of our galaxy or are they just outside? What does an advancement that large even look like?
Looking at it this way makes it quite unrealistic to think they found Earth and only communicated with the top governments of the world or whatever else the conspiracies are.
How do you measure 1 billion times more advanced?
We only began exploring space 60 years ago, its not even a huge overall priority in our species, and look at the progress we've made.
Imagine a species thats been dedicated to space exploration for 10,000 years. Think of how technology expands with each step of progress. Look at the drastic transformation of computers and cellphones over the past 4 decades.
We have no idea what another species could be capable of.
