I think it's 3 factors
1. Aliens or not. This is a real phenomenon. Something is going on, that much is very clear.
2. There's not alot of reliable information available.
3. The implications of this could change the way we view the universe, our species, our history. Basically everything we thought we knew is at stake.
So yeah, there is alot of room for bad faith actors to inject themselves into the equation.
Corbell comes across as the buggy eyed guys who drink the kool-aid to fit whatever narrative is tingling him the most at any given time he's been sus when it comes to this topic
Corbell has been at this for like 30yrs. At least as early as Bob Lazar's documentary

UFO's are real, and out of 140 cases studied they were only able to identify 1.
18 in particular showed uncharacteristic flight patterns (these are the ones we need pics and videos of) and they need to rigorously test the data to find out if it's beyond our capabilities.
All in all everyone is taking this as a win or L and it they shouldn't because absolutely nothing changed. It's like when the Mueller report dropped. It is as neutral as possible, not necessarily leading one way or the other.

I mean it's acknowledgment by the govt and a proper setting up of channels and letting military members come forward without being afraid they would get discharged if they said anything.
It is a big step forward, just not for people who want to see videos at this moment right now

Do other countries have the outlets or the care to report ufo sightings tho? I feel like most foreign people would probably just disregard it and go about they're day while in the US the ufo phenomenon is more well known

Oh yeah, there's tons and tons I bet.
The navy saw them everyday for 2 years lmao.
But now military members don't have to be scared of saying anything, which might be one of the biggest results of the report.
Think about just how many sightings were left unreported because back in the day they were discharged as crazy and would lose their homes.
The craziest part to me about the report is that they NEVER talked to the airforce about aerial phenomenon.
Lmao when they find out what the airforce has seen it is going to blow the f***ing lid off this thing.
