The Pentagon likely has data on UFOs going back multiple decades, but due to a legal technicality they're not obliged to disclose any of it.
They were asked about UAP so they're telling us what they know about UAP. Not UFOs.
They're trying to make this out to be a new thing when we know it's not. A preliminary assessment? Really? Are we supposed to believe they haven't already investigated this phenomenon for the past several decades?
