If the public were presented legit evidence for alien life, I still dont thk much would change for the majority of society, especially if there was no communication with them. Ppl would consume it and eventually move on and go about their lives. Nothing is getting in the way of the attention economy/consumption lifestyle we've tied ourselves to.
