I think artists like Yeat or Ian’s rise to prominence makes artists like Eminem or Mac Miller’s runs more impressive, like they didnt have to cosplay or anything

Odd future was never seen a meme group. They only are now in retrospect by people who may not of been old enough to see their rise.

When off future dropped, they were counter culture. Rap at the time was becoming very pop focused. For example, Wiz khalifa went from street rapper (prince of the city tapes) to blog rapper (show and prove) to pop rapper with rolling papers. Mac miller went from boom bap/sample based to pop rap with blue slide park

Then you have this rebellious group saying f*** the pop s*** and making dark disturbing music, it wasn’t a meme. People liked them because they were different

This performance from them sums it up. This is before rage rap and raging on stage became popular again

I honestly feel like people only like her because she's got "average attractive girl" looks if you know what I mean...? Like it's endearing to people that she's not that hot and she's trying to rap.... Idk

Maybe Im just being an a******, but yeah, her music is not that great and I feel like im in the twilight zone when people are calling her next up

I think it spans wider than the "rapper pulled from an episode of Atlanta" though also, the whole opium label is an embarrassment to the game but nobody has an issue w that.

Black artists take the largest s***s on this genre, Kanye just released one of the most disgustingly bad albums of his career that is so disrespectful the building blocks of hip hop. Ian is no more regressive than all these others mfs dumbing down the genre. At least, for me, Ian lives in the irony of what hip hop is currently.
