Its always the no avi sad ass humans that be bringing up s*** from over a decade ago about artists like people can't f***ing change
Never said people can't change. I said he should be more empathetic to meme rappers considering he was one.
Honestly, I think he pulls the same method that both Pharrell and Chad do.
He probably plays his fav songs, then try to flip it into something on the computer or by hand.
Basic Interpolations
That's my theory at least
Ahhhh yeah
I tried this before and it’s actually a great way to get new ideas started
You’re right but to these guys think taking a Conductor beat and a gravediggaz beat n slapping your name on it is real producing
Lot of tunnel vision happening itt

Because im black and have been in a hotbox freestyle session before and make beats/try to mess with piano every once in a while and know that learning ANY instrument (not just the one white culture prefers mr contrarian lol) is harder than rhyming brags off the top of your head
Yall gotta f***in stop lol
people don’t like to hear this because they assume it’s rockism but it really isn’t to an extent lol, like if you really are making music just to make money quick you’re definitely gonna opt for rapping (as it’s more accessible and a lower barrier of entry) than it is to learn and play a guitar
doesn’t mean one is better than the other in itself but it can be argued one route of making music is more conducive for lower quality artists just trying to do a get-rich-quick scheme as opposed to the latter where you do have to put forth a little more effort
i know in punk rock though that most of them niggas didn’t even know how to play more than two chords so idk

Mr. F*** a pregnant b**** and tell my friends I had a threesome calling other artists a meme.

Tyler never said this was about street rappers though
It’s lowkey racist of you to assume that that’s what he was talking about
i said this s*** way earlier in the thread and niggas conveniently try to ignore this point lol

this is ktt2, didn't you know its only okay to talk like that if you're actually out there doing terrible s*** to women? look at who these goofballs listen to lol
just watched the full interview, he didn’t say anything controversial. the more time goes on the more i respect this dude. i wasn’t even a fan like that back in the day, i mean i was aware of him and s*** but i was more on earl and frank, i fw him a lot more now. he really is too real for this day and age i’m not playing. mfs that cry “elitism” or “pretentious” are bottom of the barrel and deserve to be ignored and are honestly part of the problem
i will say as an aside knowing an instrument doesn’t make you inherently superior musically doe, i know niggas that did band all the way until they graduated and they have no way to make interesting songs from the ground up, creativity is the difference maker more than anything else

this is a good point. there’s actually a concept in game design called skill ceiling versus skill entry. both guitar and rapping have a very high skill ceiling, but it could be argued that the skill entry point for rapping is a lot lower. that doesn’t mean that any one skill is better than the other, it just means that one is easier to get into and thereby find success off of at a proportionally lower skill level. it’s not “elitist” to point that out, it’s literally just obvious s***
