he’s still doing more than most rappers
Yeah he puts out a lot of trash ass music that has 0 legs
Cool, but he still doesn't have a say
he needs to stand on actual business and actually showcase real talented rappers in order to have a say.
Putting a nigga like Ian on stage who is a glorified "meme" rapper isn't the best way to show that you're really for the culture.

Yeah he puts out a lot of trash ass music that has 0 legs
oh but that Ian song got yalls attention huh
i don’t think i’ve ever really thought about the impact of the soundcloud era tbh. s*** was so brief but it hit like an atomic bomb…now we’re dealing with the fallout
think about it we got uzi, carti, juice, xxx, etc who are all amazing artists but you had your lil pumps, icy narcos, lil tays, etc who got a lot of clout quickly and devalued what was really going on influenced a lot of people who are just using the music as a way to get money and don’t care about making good music and are now just taking shortcuts so it’s become normal
concrete boys??
michigan boy boat???
Yatchy too wishy washy imo
He dont stand on what he believes. Just personally, i get the vibe that hes a follower. Whether it be a check, artist, label pressures etc
Not tryna say thats necessarily a bad thing or that thats actually the case, but id def listen to ktt users more than alot of established artists in yatchys caliber at this point
oh but that Ian song got yalls attention huh
I’ve never heard it
tried to listen to the James Blake project that s*** was a joke and turned it off after track 2. The project everyone gassed where he went Pink Floyd was comically bad. The rap singles he dropped over the past year all came and went. Nigga sucks
if u dont like any rapper on michigan boy boat u prolly dont like rap lol
Ok, I don't like rap.
I like rap music

No offense to the new guys, but that last generation was coming with HEAT all while being under 30. they had developed a sound, an aesthetic, established a following, were crossing paths with the old guard, they were cemented.
rappers were never real musicians somebody like bach is a real musician
Hoping this a joke

u just hate yachty tho
but u cant deny that he has boosted rappers careers
I think He sees what the kids rave about nowadays and see how corporations respond to it, and greatly dislikes it.
This is the overarching point i got from what he said
Labels will focus on making a quick and large buck from an artist who dont care about crafting their art over investing time and money into an artist who does. Its more convenient and lower risk, with the reward always being easy money

I think people get carried away with the “Tyler is just a Pharrell clone” criticism. You can say Travis Scott, J Cole, or Chance are Kanye clones to the same extent, but they’ve all synthesized what influences them into their own thing.
And it's f***ing embarrassing that niggas saying that 2024 AMP Freestyle Cypher (which is consisted of YouTubers and Streamers) is better than XXL Freestyle Cypher.
Either one of them or Plaqueboymax could be a XXL Freshman if they actually wanted to drop a mixtape and go all out. The fact they appear to want it more than the actual rappers is telling. No one really wants to be great anymore, just lit, just cool.
Ok, I don't like rap.

what is this trash lmao 😭
Tyler thinks because he knows what a chord progression is and tossed a group of violinists in a room he can start looking down on the genre that made him. He has a history of this weird elitist mentality - by far the most obnoxious musician.
he’s not looking down on hip hop jesus christ when will you mfs drop this narrative. he’s clearly not talking about hip hop as a whole!!! you niggas are so stupid. how are you even a wong kar-wai fan when you’re this incapable of detecting obvious nuance
Yatchy too wishy washy imo
