Ultimately lesser known artists just gonna have to hope for the best when it comes to choosing a release date. Maybe it'll be best for them to stick with the first Friday of the month if Bandcamp is still doing the first Friday thing where they get 100% off sales. At the very least if your s*** gets stepped on by a major artist, the fans who really be listening to you regardless will get you good coin.

As a small artist myself I really dont care too much, if people dont listen first day you should still be pushing your album for the next 2 weeks at a minimum !!

You also will be surprised how many people will listen to u before the big artist bc they either dont care about the big artist or want to listen to you before they fully dive into the big artist

If your project holds up well for the listener with the big artist its even more impressive
