Damn I always thought bro was just another one of Tyler’s talented music homies and model for the brand so I followed him
Turns out bro is the videographer and shot the making of the album
Did we already talk about the NOID/Dark Fantasy video inspiration?
watching a vid about male pop and just realized the cover looks like david bowie’s heroes, am I late? that’s kinda cool if that’s intended
better calm that DOOWWNNNN for a man pop that ROOUUNNDDD and t.o. will not be FOUND !!!!!!
Love the little stereo effect he puts on the song during the "My s*** spinning, spinning, spinning" part
First 7 tracks of this album might be his best run on an album
ehh, maybe
but i do know that judge judy stick and mask is his best three track run
like him is streaming really well
Idk man…It’s kind of growing off of me. It’s well put together, but it feels like aside from a few moments here and there, it doesn’t really bring something significantly new to the table.
Like it felt like Cherry Bomb, Flower Boy, Igor and CMIYGL thrown in a blender. And maybe that was the point, like he deliberately made it a culmination of a sound he’s cultivated. But for me, It feels like it lacks its own identity a bit.
Flower Boy, Igor and CMIYGL all were clearly made by the same artist but they’re pretty distinctive from each other, a different direction. Chromakopia didn’t really feel like it brought a real distinctive direction/vision when it came to sound.

Not every album needs a "different direction"

to me it’s identity is being tyler’s most mature album thematically. I’m not mad at the “tyler’s mr morale” comparison
Idrc anymore for this album which is kinda f***ed up cause its obv quality
Not much replay value imo

i agree
his least replayable album when it comes to playing it in full imo
otherwise I still play some tracks like st chroma and like him

I don't think this is fair on Tyler, and this is coming from someone who's been labelled a "hater" on here before. There is a clear direction he went with on this project, judging from some of the topics and themes that he explores on here. I'm not even all that crazy for the album but he was clearly aiming for a much more mature and even more vulnerable approach

I think subject matter wise it’s very respectable and I don’t think overall it’s a bad album. I’m more so referring to the direction of the music and how it sounds.
I think he’s gotten comfortable in his particular sound he’s cultivated and I find a lack of something distinctively…Chromakopia. Aside from a brief moment or 2 like the song “Like Him”.
I hear mostly elements from his last album few albums released since Cherry Bomb kind of blended together rather than something that I could define as “distinctive” for Chromakopia. Like I’ve heard “Darling, I” on Flower Boy or “Noid” on Igor before.
I just hope next time, we get something where he pushes the limits on his established sound a bit more and gives us something that isn’t what you think of when Tyler pops in your head. That’s something he managed to do on the last few albums prior that I don’t think he quite managed to do this time.

I made the mistake of listening to GNX right before this album, and now it don't hit for me like that

Oh, yeah I understand the complaint of him not exploring his sound further. Maybe that's what he wants to stick to at this point in his career. I'm not really a huge fan of that sound (who dat boy slaps tho) but we'll see what he comes up with next album cycle
Let it be

Really dumb metric to judge art but do you
