I will say as much of a cherry bomb truther as I have been and I still stand by that production going toe to toe with even igor and chromokopia that album has some BAD song writing. Its great but its not his best album like at all

Goblin the album was my proper intro to him although i heard songs like Orange Juice, Seven, B****** Intro, and Swag Me Out beforehand cause of word of mouth

I had only heard of him like a month before Goblin dropped and had heard every song he ever made by that point and I think I was expecting a wolf type album from Goblin.

I like Goblin honestly but every other album he has is like a personal classic to me, thats the only one I was ever like oh this is just solid on impact. I listened to it but it was never one of my fav OF projects even when it was new

everyone knows when ppl talk about "tyler not having nothing to talk about" was mainly due to CMIYGL and the features during that era.

igor and call me are weird cases for me bc i wasnt jacking igor hella initially but over the years it grew alot and call me was something i loved at first but i dont really hold it to a high regard now even though i love the direction

Yeah I still like it because I needed the motivation at the time I was at a serious low point when that album dropped so songs like Rise, sir baudelaire, runitup etc meant a lot bc i would listen and envision a better future. Also not to mention Manifesto is f***ing insane

But a lot of the criticisms make more sense to me now, and Wilshire compared to Hey Jane is the perfect example. I do think CMIYGL is great fr but its shallow compared to this and i dont think it will go down as an essential tyler album

Igor is amazing but my gripe with the album was the entire thing being about one topic was boring to me even though musically i was in love

CMIYGL i loved bc it had a variety of topics but musically it was tylers least impressive in a minute, like it didnt have many crazy production highlights from him just very solid and consistent production. Sweet being an exception for me tho that was crazy

It was like he took the good things about igor and cmiygl and put it in this album at the same time, making a flower boy level album for me personally.

Yeah my theory was he was working on an album but didnt have enough time to finish it by 2021 so did a mixtape vibe so he could have his rapper album while still having time to work on the bigger idea
