YOU DONT LIKE THIS PRODUCTION
I was never a fan of his Cherry Bomb esque music, the production can be a bit grating/too much at times IMO
I loved the Igor production

im not trying to overintellectualize but IGOR->CMIYGL was a pretty big evolution of tyler's persona from feeling like a monster due to vulnerability (extremely compressed view of it but still) to this idea of traveling around with this elevated lifestyle only to end up still feeling lost due to personal qualms
at the end of CMIYGL he has safari (which is very literally a journey) discussing new freedoms but still being true to roots. this isn't "literal" per-se but there's a clearer evolution from CMIYGL->CK than there is prior album sequencing.
Like if at the end of CMIYGL he finds freedom, than Chromakopia is the new world he finds himself in as the freer "St Chroma" , but series of events in the sequencing of the album (i.e. paranoia, which he's always had) shows him there's not only cracks in his freedom, he hasn't actually escaped he's traveled that far and beneath the mask (literal too, but also for the St Chroma character), he still hasn't really accepted the reality of his life
think about it conceptually like "Call me if you get lost" -> "i hope you find yourself". before he's traveling around trying to find meaning and define himself in his actions and environment. but then once he's home, he's still searching and traveling - just internally rather than externally. even the outro being "i hope you find your way home" is kind of a callback to the being "lost" in CMIYGL.
Makes a lot of sense
Tyler is a pretty opinionated and particular individual, and being in the spotlight since being 19 definitely validated those feelings
Having the level of independence that you do at that age means confronting uncomfortable situations or places where your position isn’t ideal. I think he’s still facing these realities.
Best TDE signee since SiR probably
Best TDE signee since isaiah and sza lol
She better than SiR to me
I see why this brother said he wanted more space for this project to be discussed so far
It’s easy to get lost in the production but he’s story telling his ass off good grief
I was never a fan of his Cherry Bomb esque music, the production can be a bit grating/too much at times IMO
I loved the Igor production
facts, tyler will flex and over produce moments on tracks.
end of sticky for ex
bridge in judge judy is out of
place and doesn't add nothing to the track (compared to bridge in I Think off Igor for comparison)
