Oh yeah. Tbh I think at the time, even though his early work was “weirdo s***” and that stopped some people from listening, I think that was part of the appeal for many.
It was like a fusion of the classic hip hop voice of the forgotten and underprivileged, fused with the punk rock ethos of an aggressive counter culture.
Even if many of the fans weren’t literally forgotten or underprivileged, I think they all related to that feeling in a way.
Tbh, I just wish more of the music held up because the original OF run is the stuff of legends
