I will say I am kinda growing tired over how everything he makes has a lot of the same sensibilities and flavors even as he has these massive bends in larger sound

Like the chords on this sound like every album he’s done before and they definitely could’ve been done differently or ditched all together

And like yeah it’s very distinct and trademarked but I wanna see him get uncomfortable in his technical production process, not just the larger creative vision

I gave critiques of the song too I just think yours are a narrative and I don’t think its a good critique

Chords are what Tyler’s music is, thats why I like his music why would u expect him not to have them when he’s said countless times thats his favorite part of music and he has hella fans who like him for that exact reason

That doesn’t even come off as an issue of quality because the chords sound good it comes off as a narrative to run with randomly even though this is what people come to tyler for

I think people are saying “chords” because we can’t articulate the exact way that it sounds samey. I think it has more to do with him falling back on instruments that have his particular sound, much the same way Pharrell does. Ye is able to switch the production up so drastically cause he’s pulling in a bunch of other producers to help him.

As a huge music fan, I love a good chord.
