By graduation I simply mean full 100% crossover appeal. soccer moms listening to Stronger type s***. Not 911 having a billion streams on spotify. If anyone's capable of that, it's Tyler, and I think at the least he wants to have that crossover moment in hiphop to insert himself in that big convo. He cares a ton about narratives
And yeah going from an album like Flower Boy to an album like IGOR (which still had earfquake) has theatrical merit. Pulling the same move twice is not an interesting spectacle and cheapens my perspective on Tyler's ambition and how he makes executive decisions about his artistry
Some of us (me included) have been looking at music through the lens of marketing & narratives for too long, we’re not A&Rs, let’s just enjoy what we get

Real
The font doesn’t bug me, but I do think the textless cover is better for sure
I’m most likely switching the cover to this as soon as the album drops on Apple Music

the music video does NOT do this song justice at all. i was so confused after watching the video because it's like a quarter of the actual song and its not even the most dynamic/interesting parts of it. i think it could have a bit better progression but its pretty cool of a song

LOOKING FOR A MOSHPIT TO KNOCK OUT 150 CRACKERS IN WHEN THAT SONG COME ON
LOOKING FOR A MOSHPIT TO KNOCK OUT 150 CRACKERS IN WHEN THAT SONG COME ON
Tyler the Creator unlocks something different in them crackers brother be careful
Now I’m really interested to see how his stage production will look when he goes on tour
How is he going to incorporate this black and white aesthetic to a stage design
What’s the logic behind artists having shortened versions of the song for the music video?
Kevin Spacey got to be so jealous of Tyler. Playing the "I am Gay" card to avoid accountability only works if you didn't commit crimes
What’s the logic behind artists having shortened versions of the song for the music video?
incentivizes listening to the song vs playing from video because of streaming counts . Many various reasons or dont have visuals they want to go to certain parts
What’s the logic behind artists having shortened versions of the song for the music video?
I think it’s a budget/idea thing.
Less video means it costs less to make, which for some artists is a big deal.
I don’t think that’s why T does it tho.
I think for him it’s the idea angle; he gets good ideas for part of the song, and wants to make them, but doesn’t feel he can create visuals that fit with the other part of the song, so he just leaves it non visualized.
