    Tyler puts so much effort into his albums and even as someone who doesn’t fw most of his music I appreciate his craft so much. awesome live performer too

    I was gonna say I’m hearing a ton of west African funk influence

    but lyrically and visually youre right they're taking it personally

    hes a creative powerhouse but hes hitting tht point in his career where he just doesn't have the same storytelling ability he had earlier in his career. it felt like FB and igor was like that perfect middle ground, CMIYGL has stand out tracks storytelling / lyrically but a lot of what he has to say since then has been more or less the same...

    Visually what would you compare this to when it comes to his previous works

    You shouldn’t get mad that an artist did something different than your expectations when you had no actual reason to have those expectations

    yea i dont need another wolf but i feel like his storytelling + earnestness in igor and flowerboy said a lot more than CMIYGL

    i feel like call's me best track lyricslly was sorry not sorry. wilshire didnt really do it for me even tho i get the sentiment.

    i just feel like he's trying to make himself more palatable to a hip hop audience so he can get that best rapper category, but he feels like hes at his best when he's just making really out there s*** that sounds like no one else rn

    like ending the verse with "dont let a woman trap you!" felt weird and out of place, it makes sense thematically but it just feels weird for tyler to give these kinda bars, i'd want to hear more about what kinda experience's hes had with groupies / women that gave him that sense of fear

    his verse on what we heard from st chroma sounded fresh lyrically and delivery wise. i think i like this instrumental better, but st chroma really has my hopes up for this nigga rappin rappin
