Igor and chromakopia do not sound alike

I think post call me the last 3 blend together a lot tho

What are the differences in his production between Igor and Chroma?

I kinda take Chromakopia as an updated flower boy. Flower boy was created at his lowest point, and Chromakopia is that check in years later after bouncing back from that hurdle. What does he have to say after making it to the level that he always dreamed of? What has he learned since then? What’s he gonna do next?

wouldn’t that just be Call Me If You Get Lost which directly references Flower Boy and is his bounce back?

igor is almost completely sample based and chromakopia is just his flower boy style damn near polished up, there are samples throughout but doesnt lean on it

also the songs just clearly sound different ?

CMIYGL & Chromakopia aren’t really all that different to me so I’d say so

Only difference w CMIYGL is it has some production thats out house which is the only album of his where thats the case for multiple songs

Chromakopia felt more like a mashing of Wolf, Call Me and Flower Boy, especially the storytelling he’s leaning into, feels like he just hit continue on Call Me on some songs. also he was pulling out a lot of Wolf on tour, but maybe that’s normal for him. that production on Call Me so perfect to me…

Completely sample based? Not really unless you’re also counting drumbreaks

    Yeah I agree

Chroma was fine but just felt like a bunch of rehashes

yea maybe why I wasn’t to high on it cause Call Me rated so highly for me, BUT, that Chroma tour was still amazing, one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. it made me respect the album more even if I don’t listen often

  • see y'all next year lol (maybe)

I mean at least 5 of the songs are heavily built on samples outside of the drum breaks which is definitely a different production technique than chromakopia

Chromakopia was basically just a polished version of what he was doing on flower boy

I feel like the difference is pretty obvious just by listening to it

he was on Chromakopia tour probably meeting all his heroes when he made and dropped that so makes sense lol

I mean I get it but I always respected Tyler for being his own artist (whether I like the music or not), it was jarring to hear him basically impersonate Kendrick for multiple tracks

  • Unforgivable

I’ll Take Care of You is a top 10 Tyler song don’t quote me

that and dont you worry baby are the only songs I ever revisit off that album

I think Tyler might’ve cursed himself by breaking the 2 year release pattern

Something just felt off for me starting with Chromokopia and then Don’t Tap

the offness kinda started with call me imo but I see where youre coming from

I see where you’re coming from too but I still was into Call Me a lot, I really enjoyed it and played it a lot. Chroma just didn’t hit for me and it’s hard to even explain why

I said impersonating, there are multiple songs where he jacks Kendricks GNX vocal inflections, cadence and even the over the top delivery

  • I am begging that he please keeps that s***

I can’t deal with another Tyler era
