In the past 5 years I’d say, their 9+ rated albums are dreadful. From that dogshit ANOHNI album to the extremely cringeworthy out of touch white women bs in Norman Rockwell or just painfully boring bland indie rock like the Big Thief record. Magdalene was mid af too tbh.
Where there used to be some actual interesting picks like Life of Pablo or Reflektor or Yeezus or Settle, all their 9+ rated albums honestly just feel like they’re either bland soft indie rock or corny piano ballads at this point
Yves Tumors Safe in the hands of Love might be their only interesting 9+ album in the past 4 years and they rated his next album, which was clearly better, lower than it

I love Magdalene, but that turned me from someone who was always mixed on Twigs to loving her and I've seen the opposite from ppl who felt the other way
and yeah with the point about having somewhat risky yet high picks like with the yeezus/pablo/reflektor which is when they like an artist and stand for their experimentation highly.

Tbh I think some rap songs should’ve 100% been a 9+
This is in that territory too it’s weird to me that this and Igor are rated lower than flower boy
I like all 3 but to me both this and Igor are a clear cut above flower boy
