Some level of abrasiveness has ALWAYS been a part of Tyler’s work, Flower Boy is the only album where he avoids it at all costs. I don’t believe Tyler truly wanted to make an album that clean and inoffensive

Flower Boy will always be the worst Tyler album for me because it’s obvious he’s holding himself back and being self conscious and safe, it’s sterile in comparison to the rest. That said it was the right move and saved his career so I can accept it as a means to an end. Again, Tyler basically said all this himself

What your saying is facts tbh.

Tyler’s whole career is based on mixing beautiful jazz chords with abrasive punk energy. That was he’s been trying to do from the start and why he said “new magic wand” is the best song he has made.

Flower boy was the only album he comprised this vision for, with cherry bomb he went all in on it and that’s why it’s my favourite

Nah Tyler still said recently that his goal is to combine abrasive/hard stuff with the softer stuff, I’m not talking about early edginess but stuff like New Magic Wand

Got you I just want more rapping on here. I enjoy his singing but J Cole delivered what I felt his discography needed at this point, I hope Tyler does the same

I get the love for Flower Boy but it's always been slightly boring to me, ik im gonna get hate for this

Someone on here sent me a pitch edited version of IGOR, but the beats sound all drowned out too His vocals not bad on it, I actually prefer listening to that version sometimes

I've said for ages a straight up rap album from Tyler is on the top of my wishlist. I love his melodic s*** but a lot of my favorite s*** from him is when he's coming with the bars.

Which is a bit ironic because I've always been someone who values production over everything
