you should look up how other artists credit the original producers of a beat they sample
yea didn't K Dot do the same with a bunch of his TPAB samples

That’s when a beat or song is sampled, not when the beat is just used. It’s a grey area because not all samples are that transformative but if you’re using the mixtape aesthetic and literally just using the beat as is with tiny changes, I don’t see it as the same. Mixtapes is people rapping over previously released instrumentals it’s not the same as sampling. This ain’t sampling imo but Tyler or his team found a loophole
Lumberjack is produced by Prince Paul I don’t give a f*** what the credits say

Nah, completely different
tracklist and two album covers tomorrow please
I’m hoping the Tidal credits are a mistake and the tracklist will credit the producers

He’s probably gonna keep the list a secret until release to keep features a surprise
Yea that’s fair, if I wasn’t on here I wouldn’t have noticed either sample and I’d probably be loving the songs
My friend who isn’t really that into hip hop but likes Tyler was going on about how great the production was on these singles and I didn’t have the heart to tell him Tyler didn’t do it. Everyone has the expectation that he produces his stuff and even Fantano thought Lumberjack was an original beat. Might be the worst part about this is he’s kind of passing it off as his own to people who aren’t in the know, and not going out of the way to give credit. The fact he is the only listed producer for Lumberjack is asinine and shouldn’t happen, honestly waters down the “produced written arranged by Tyler” thing if we really counting that
bruh its not like he doesn't do anything to the beats
he's still producing on this album. Listen to the drums on lumberjack
This better be like prequel and In My Mind in one somehow and not just the prequel. A tape taking up this whole album cycle and having to wait another 2 years for an album would suck, honestly if he wanted to do a tape why not drop a prequel a few months back and then the album now, not like these songs so far seem like they took that much effort. These songs couldn’t have taken the usual 2 years of work that Tyler album songs get
how you know this aint a normal album??

So if I beef up the drums on a cherry bomb instrumental I produced it now? Idk I’m not saying he has nothing to do with it but I don’t agree with calling it “produced by Tyler”, I’d be ok with produced by Tyler and Prince Paul. If he jumps on a Pharrell beat (I would assume he would for this) will that also say produced by Tyler? Just questionable territory imo and I think if the shoe was on the other foot Tyler wouldn’t want someone claiming sole producer credit if they just added more knock to Smuckers or something. It’s the same beat just mixed better/in a more modern way
Dumb question probably, but do we know which one the album cover is?
the one with the passport
