I will say, while i liked Tyler's music during early OF, i never took it serious. I viewed it not much differently than how I a horror film. A fictional story that's not necessarily meant to be a reflection of things the artist think are okay.

Now, in hindsight I don't think that type of story telling translates to music well. There are a lot of people that listen to music for relatability and to connect with the artist. So he's bound to attract a lot of weirdos with those rape bars.
And on top of that it expanded beyond the music with the blackface merch, and KKK stuff. Which, ngl. I'm was a DIEHARD Odd Future fan back then, and that stuff missed me lol. I never saw that convo with Syd and Matt calling him out either lol.

Regardless, i think all of that stuff is corny now. I can't listen to B****** or Goblin at all lol. And I'm sure he doesnt really enjoy most of those edgy bars either.

But i think blaming his fanbase on his is probably not very accurate. I would say most of his edgy B******/Goblin area fans either grew up and matured out of that type of music; or if they didn't they stopped listening to him all together. I see tons of ppl all the time that say "He got corny after Flower Boy. His new fans are mix of Gen Z Breadtube type white fans, elitist fakedeep music fans(mostly white), and some hip-hop heads.

Every single year Tyler trends on twitter because a bunch of his new fans just discovered his Pre Flower Boy music. Most of them barely even knew Tyler was a edgelord, so i would chalk it up to most of them just being ignorant white kids who wouldnt know or appreciate black music made before 2010 lol

New Tyler, has grown up a lot as a person. It definitely seems he saw how he used to act and all this edgy bullshit he used to say to get attention. Maybe it’s just wanting to see the good in artists I love but modern Tyler, I think will handle this well. He’s definitely done a lot to undo his old ways
