I was there back from the start. His early stuff and antics were sadly was just a reflection of the times on the internet back then (yes he had black fans that weren’t alternative that f***ed with it too) If you were a hypebeast/hipster fashion dude back then, Odd Future culture was part of your life.

The thing that separates us from the white fans is that we grew up with his music and now find the stuff he was doing cringe cause we matured. B****** still slaps imo but it’s not a record that I can say has really aged well lyrically.

That’s exactly why I only really champion the 2017 onward work as his best lyrically and sonically. Also I love that he himself has matured out of that phase with songs like Dogtooth, I Killed You, Tomorrow, and MASSA.
