Yes, and to be specific to what happened by process - the visual component to the art itself was replaced by social media relatability. Streaming itself helped kill it on its own, but that’s also another topic besides that point.

Instead of putting that all into their lyrics and at the very least narcissistically tying it to their celebrity, they can’t even put it all into their lyrics to begin with. Twitter is terrible for the economy of industry lyricism, cause what was once on the page is now on the screen since these f***heads wanna be regular people who share their thoughts that don’t get regular people responses.
