His early fanbase's demo is only a small part of his current fanbase

Although semi anti nigga who i don't like/selective about which niggas I like Tyler probably influenced them
'I like Waka Flocka but me and OF basically did the D-Generation X Nation Of Domination sketch on 106 & Park & dissed the majority of mainstream rappers'

I'd say 1/27 of current Tyler fans even know much about his pre Cherry Bomb career

He was young & feeling slighted, most of his early interviews are scrubbed off the net now
E.g. that one when he almost fought one of the dude's behind the camera & Syd got annoyed at him
Or the one of him saying the black community was messed up because of some things & because he got clowned for a slipknot shirt

by my calculations i'd say about 1/27 of his current fanbase

Ironically its the new fans gained since flowerboy that dont like black music

Which is so crazy all things considered

Yeah I wrote earlier that Earl quickly handled this a lot better than Tyler early in his career.

Mad tyler fans rate it the lowest in his modern era lol

not my point, you can rate an album low idrc, but it is concerning when tyler creates by far his most personal album to date and the content just isn’t engaged with and disregarded . this happens a lot in the past 10+ years in rap/hip hop

They’re trying to get at Tyler for his edgy stuff as a teenager Like you just found out about that?

I hate whenever Tyler collabs with a more street based artist because he’s actually a fan of them, his fans either say we don’t want to hear it or they try and act like the only reason they sound good is because of Tyler

They did it with Maxo Kream, YB, Sexyy Red, 42 Dugg etc

redveil talked about this once in a podcast with Danny Brown

black artists will make experimental music and still enjoy mainstream and street rap cause it's part of their culture but since they are backed by a fanbase full of white niggas with a God complex for experimental music this is always the result

all i know is that white people music needs to make a comeback so they leave rap music alone bruh

It's moreso the fan base that he has that disrespects Black legends and art because of the s*** he did from 19-23 that he never acknowledges

but tyler constantly propped up black music his entire career. he was dropping dj mixes every summer with brandy, stevie, d’angelo, musiq soulchild, jill scott, pharrell, etc

half these white kids wouldn’t even know half these classics we grew up on if it wasn’t for him

he’s probably shown more love to
black legends over the course of his career than any other these other rappers from his gen

I'm curious how Tyler responds to this particular kinda backlash he's getting. Before when he'd deal with stuff like this he'd just brush it off as overly PC Gen Z teenagers discovering his old music.

He's got Black folks on his ass because the fans he cultivated during that era of his career talking wild about Black art/artists.

If he responds I wonder how he will go about it. Especially since he's been tryna rebrand himself as an artist looking to be embraced by a Black audience more.
