in what world would the phrase "just so you can look like you have the resources to fit in to a demo that will pay" apply to people who want to buy groceries or pay their 3-bedroom apartment electric bill

there's no desire to "fit in" in that demographic people don't want to have food and electricity because they want to fit in, they want those things because they're bare necessities to life
