I think it only stifles creativity if it’s the only tool you use. At one point, people probably thought sampling, synthesizers, or drum machines were cheating or lazy too. Artists already pay producers to make beats and songwriters to write lyrics, sometimes with little to no input. Is prompting AI really that different? Personally, I’m not a fan, but the technology isn’t going anywhere.
