Never seen it. HBO show right? Is it worth peepin?
Also I thought the Lost Pilot (Although I know it's two parts) was amazing as well.

yea was on hbo in the early 2000's.
highly recommend. my fav show oat.
but I'll warn you its a heavy ass show lmao wouldnt recommend for binge watching tbh
only show that truly changed me.
lost pilot is on the list as well s*** was basically a movie
AVI DOPE AS HELL!
Appreciate it
One of the most underrated moments in the series. Strong Marian apparition vibes.
Watching this for the third time while in quarantine with my girlfriend - her first time seeing it! She likes it, but says it’s too slow for her to really get into. we’re midway through S2 right now.
Hoping she appreciates it more once it unravels a bit more (S2 finale) and hopefully likes S3 since it’s a totally different tone

Same thing here
Six Feet Under totally changed me and my taste for movies/show at 15. Been looking for the same level of character development ever since... Damn, still miss Nate
How often do you rewatch it ?

real!!
man i wasn't even bothering making a thread about the show on here cause i never see it being mentioned among the GOAT shows and it 100% deserves its place in there.
i mean for one: greatest series finale ever what more can you really do??
man i could write a book about this f***ing show man...
can't really explain the feeling it gave me tbh just by the end of it you really feel like an extended family member like you KNOW these people man and it hurts so bad the way it plays out for some of these people...
and the character development uggh...
the way alan ball portrayed keith and davids relationship idk if this has been done before the show came around in such a competent and realistic way...
and nate is probably my fav tv character oat and i relate to him very deeply in some ways... (obv he has glaring flaws but yea lol)
I always describe it as the most human show of all time, cause really it doesn't get realer than death lmao
got the box set years ago and i rewatched the show about 5 or 6 times since then, last rewatch happened in november 2019 (always rewatch it around winter/christmas time cause it hits even harder then lmao)
but man like i said i feel like the show is this sort of insider thing nobody even talks about it anymore but it was relatively big back in the day when it aired.
ever since i first watched it all these years ago i instantly knew it would become a part of me from then on and it never really left my memory since then.
you can't take a picture of this, it's already gone

great post
The ending was sooo crushing, that even after all these years theres still images that pop in my head, it's incredibly haunting like Claire's old eyes in the final shot of the show
I like what you said about this being the most human show oat, because it really does feel like it, all of it feels very genuine and you can tell the writing was therapeutic to Alan Ball. Wish he wrote/directed more stuff tbh...LIke Here and Now was cool but not even comparable to what sFU accomplished
But yeah i asked you that because i never did rewatch it, surprisingly! Idk just never felt ready to experience it again haha if you know what i mean... How does it hold on multiple viewings for you? Might do it now since i'm in the mood for existencial dred lmao
A thread would be really doope, there must be ppl here that feel the same way about the show, hopefully
And we need a place to share thoughts about it

hell yeah i mean alan himself is gay so i assume there's a lot of stuff that happened in his life that we saw Keith and especially david go through...
man i mean i watched this show so many times and idk if i can give you a unbiased answer to how it holds up now but I'll try:
i mean the show premiered in the early 00's and ended in 05 so of course theres gonna be stuff that will just seem outdated, esp now in our hyper advanced tech-society, and of course the show is a little bit stuck in that early 00's haze you can't get around that, def some cheesy elements.
but i mean you have to remember the era the show aired in and how things were like back then, so that outdated feeling is never a huge issue for me personally.
esp. since the core of the show itself is timeless (since its obviously about life --> death and how we all cope with that/or how we not)
so i mean the show def has its flaws (some people say the show fell off after the first 2 seasons, then some say s3 was the best...)
but almost everybody can agree on that S4 was kinda the shows low point (some issues regarding the resolving of the lisa plot if you remember how that went... and some other questionable out of character stuff)
but then the show caught itself and came back with an amazing last season...
so all in all rewatches are recommended since the core of the show never changes, u will always find the topics it explores relatable because well we all gonna be six feet under one day...
one thing i noticed tho is i relate to certain characters more on subsequent rewatches, maybe its because i paid more attention to them or maybe because i can relate to a particular story more cause I'm going through it myself u know what i mean?
man I'm really out here writing essays about another show in the twin peaks thread
might really have to make a thread

It's funny because from what i remember always thought that the show got progressively better ( but i do agree that s4 is the weakest, altho the scene where Nate buries Lisa is one of my favs ) But that just may be me growing more attached to the characters as the show goes on... Season 5 is such a masterpiece tho
Aight mann if you happen to create it, @ me if you want, just so it doesn't pass me by
Also the soundtrack of course ....

yea that scene with nate alone out there and lisas body was gut wrenching...
that bone chilling scream of utter agony
hell yea ima @ u when i make the thread (hopefully next week if i don't forget)
i assume it's most likely just gonna be us in there having convos tho
still can't listen to breathe me without getting teary eyed
